We like to try our best to boil our potatoes until they are tender, but when we are looking to buy them, it can be hard to find the right size for us. Yeah, same here. We dont think of the color change when we see it. Its almost a subconscious thing, that we cant see the color change, and we cant recognize it when we see it. That probably has to do with our different color sensitivities. When we eat potatoes, we cant see the color, but we can recognize what color it is by tasting it.

That’s another one of those things I am always surprised to find out, but I am very much not alone in wondering if people even notice it. I’ve been known to look across a table and see people eating potatoes and not realize I was looking at them. Of course, I would never say this, because I would never say this to my friends. But I know that in a lot of situations, I tend to get up from my food and look around.

Potato soup is one of those dishes that seems to have a lot of people asking how to make it better. Its a fairly easy dish to make, and there are so many variations of it, but the way people talk about it, its quite confusing. People who use the phrase “boil it” to describe a potato soup usually don’t seem to know what they are doing, but they just seem to be talking about the same thing.
